Make life easier and get a more professional installation of the Pontiac V8 dipstick tube. The first step in building a Pontiac V8 is installing the tube. It goes in from the inside of the engine. The Spotts Performance tool was designed and used by Pontiac engine builder, Paul Spotts. Now a new and improved tool is available as shown here. This tool is for stainless and steel tubes and works on all block. This presses in the external tube. Early Pontiacs use a short tube and Pontiac used a longer tube around 1966. See my other listings for tubes. The tapered ends make it easier to install tubes in aftermarket blocks (like the IAII and KRE) and the opposite end is to slightly “flare out” the tube once it is installed. This allows a much easier install of the internal tubes that are curved.
