History and information on our Spotts Performance Pontiac front engine dragster:
Original 1968 front engine dragster. This 176” dragster was built by the Dauhrenheim brothers, in the late 60’s. Car was campaigned by North Jersey Performance and Machine from Oradell, NJ. Car was originally a hemi powered car, but the current Spotts Performance built 1969 671 blown, alky injected Pontiac 428 with factory D-port heads has powered the slingshot to its best ET of 7.20 with speeds as high as 192 mph! Car is mostly original with its hand brake, 8 ¾” Chrysler rear, chrome molly frame, seat, torsion suspension, front wheels, steering, even the tin work! Car is mainly used as a bracket racer, without the help of electronics – not even a tach. 2002 “Pontiacs at the grove” Quick 16 winner. 2001 runner up. Norwalk, Ohio quick 16 number 1 qualifier - 2002,2003,and 2004.
